An introduction to
Restorative Skills

This is the course you need if you want to be able to offer the full range of restorative approaches in your setting.

“The course is
lively, experiential ,
challenging
and fun”

We recommend that you allow six days, spread over several weeks, to allow time

for practice in between sessions.

However we can cover the course in five longer days if necessary. The course is lively, experiential, challenging and fun.

Our team of experienced trainers can travel to you anywhere in the UK, and even overseas, to offer you a course to suit your needs.

INSET and SHORT
COURSES
We offer one, two, three and four day courses that provide elements of a restorative approach.
Although it is useful for as many staff as possible to have the full training in order to understand what level of intervention is appropriate for which situation, nevertheless time constraints may mean identifying to what level of skill you need certain staff to be trained.
Please contact us to discuss your staff needs and what they hope to be able to do after the training.
INSET days and shorter courses can have a specific focus such as :
  • Addressing bullying
  • Dealing with gang issues
  • Developing social and emotional skills through restorative approaches (the S.E.A.L curriculum)
  • Reviewing our behaviour management policy
  • Enhancing our young people’s voice: peer mediation, mentoring and school council
  • Reducing exclusions from classroom and school
  • Re-connection – how to re-integrate young people effectively after exclusion from classroom and/or school?
  • Creative conflict management - Reducing the need for guns, knives and other weapons amongst young people

We run regular open access courses, attended by participants from different backgrounds.
Teachers, behaviour support professionals, youth workers and youth justice professionals to name a few.

Past course members attest to the value of meeting with others from different areas and to the wealth of experience and knowledge which can be shared.

We aim to run four residential courses a year - in the Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.
